"Sn210" (sn210)

My MR2 only came with one key, so I want to get a spare for obvious reasons. I want to get an OEM Toyota key blank because my aw11 has some serious originality, it's bone stock! I'm having trouble tracking down what key I should have though.
I was able to find this eBay seller who has OEM keys, but he's got two different kinds. This first one is the one that I have. The seller describes this key as "the wallet" key which I interpret to be the modern valet key. Just the spare you keep in your wallet?
They've also got this key with a plastic head, but I don't know it looks too new, like it should be the sw20 key. The seller's description doesn't specify which MR2 model these are for.
So, what do your aw11 mr2 keys look like? Gratuitous MR2 pics for your help!

What year is it? My brother's '87 Supra has the plastic key. I'd assume most Toyota's from that era used similar keys.

The plastic key is the stock one, you can pick one up from twosrus for super originality

I saw them there, but I think this guy on eBay was a little cheaper

Not super cheap, but I want it to be correct. I think ill get two plastic keys made up and save my "wallet" key as the spare

Im not 100% sure but I think there might be different types of the plastic head key for different models, not that it would really make a difference

I'll double check, but I'm pretty sure this is the style for the mr2. I've seen it on other sites but none of them confirmed it was the aw11 key. Thanks for the info!

I think it was a slight difference in length or something but the plastic one you have pictured is definitely the right style

Youre right! The original key part number is 90999-00106, which is what twosrus has:
Toyota then replaced that part with 90999-00212, which is what I found on eBay. It looks like the plastic is different, the -106 looks smoother and has raised letters while the -212 key looks textured and has the letters cut into it.

Mine only came with the metal key, but the plastic one is the right age. My dad had an '85 Supra and '88 Tercel when I was growing up, and both had that one.

yeah I ended up getting two of the plastic ones pictured. I was pretty nervous with just one key, not that I've ever lost or broke one

That style was actually pretty common on lotsa Toyota models. My local locksmith had blank stock in both metal and plastic head when I cut spares for my MisterTwo.
